A NEW mobile health clinic set up in a store’s town centre car park is already proving a huge success, health chiefs say.
People are having medical appointments in trailers at the B&Q car park at Bolton Gate retail park as part of an initiative to cut waiting times.
The mobile centre is one of six across Greater Manchester. And the scheme has attracted more than 1,000 patients across the region in its first month.
The clinical assessment treatment services (CATS) are run by private company, Care UK.
Mark Hunt, managing director of the primary care division at Care UK, said: “GPs and practice staff in the local areas are recognising the benefits they bring to their patients, such as quicker access and convenient locations based in the community, as well as the added benefit of longer opening times."
