Casualty (Saturday, BBC One, 8.45pm) Adam and Jordan’s battle of wits takes another turn as the latter urges Henry to monitor his rival at work. Adam is understandably irked at the notion, but gets on with his job.

At the same time, Jordan tries every underhand trick in the book to see his colleague fall flat on his face.

However, when the tables are turned and all three men end up in the operating theatre, with the spotlight firmly on Jordan, it becomes clear neither him nor Adam will rest until the other is destroyed.

Meanwhile, Jessica goes into labour at the same time as a teenager, Dean, causes an explosion in his mum’s restaurant. The pregnant nurse is forced to give birth in a car, while Zoe is sent out to deal with the accident.

She’s far from happy as there’s no one to look after Sharice, and realises she’s got no choice but to give up her adoption dream.

Louis Theroux — A Place for Paedophiles (Sunday, BBC Two, 9pm) Intrepid reporter Louis Theroux often looks a little like a rabbit caught in the headlights during his always-fascinating documentaries. But this film is possibly one of the bravest and most controversial he’s ever undertaken.

He goes behind the high walls of Coalinga Mental Hospital in California, home to more than 500 of America’s most disturbed criminals. They’re paedophiles, many of whom have been sent to this establishment indefinitely.

Louis discovers there is a way out of the place — through a programme of rehabilitation and therapy run by the hospital’s psychologists. It’s not a key to the door, in fact only 13 people have ever completed it successfully, but Louis aims to find out whether these men, many of whom are emotionally damaged themselves, are capable of being truly honest.

As always, Louis allows us to make our own mind up about what he’s showing us, but it’s clear this subject is one that gets under his skin too.

Britain’s Next Top Model (Monday, Living, 9pm) If you’re still under the impression that being a model is an easy job for anyone who can walk and pout at the same time, clearly you’ve never seen this show, which is returning for a new series.

It takes a group of aspiring catwalk queens and tries to shape them into professionals capable of dealing with the most outrageous photo shoots, and thick-skinned enough to cope with a notoriously fickle industry.

In this first episode, host Lisa Snowdon introduces us to the 20 hopefuls who’ve made the grade and will be battling it out for the prize.

They are all packed off to model boot camp and in keeping with their new, ultra-disciplined regime, are asked to take part in a military-themed photo shoot.

They are also challenged to strut their stuff on the catwalk, and then it’s on to the scariest part of the show — facing the judges as they find out which one of them will be booted out.
