POLICE are meeting with ethnic minority community leaders in a drive to recruit more black officers.
Representatives from Greater Manchester Police will meet with community worker Donald Gayle and other community members to discuss ways of increasing ethnic minority applications.
African and Caribbean food will be served.
Mr Gayle said: “Why are Bolton’s African, black, Caribbean and mixed race members not forward in accessing opportunities in the police?
“The recruitment within the Asian community for the police has almost doubled in the last two years.”
E-mail joan.morgan@gmp.police.uk or donald.gayle@googlemail.com to book a place.
The meeting is at 1pm on Friday May 1 at the Cotton Tree pub in Prince Street, Bolton.
