GARY Megson’s summer spending plans have been put on hold for another week after conceding his side are not yet completely safe from relegation.
A battling point against Aston Villa – the first against any of the top six clubs this season – was enough to keep Wanderers well clear of the bottom three with four games to go.
But the manager reckons he cannot press ahead with recruitment until the Whites are mathematically assured of their position in the Premier League.
“It’s very difficult because you are looking at players and thinking ‘we’ll go for him’ – if … ,’ he said.
“As soon as we get rid of that ‘if’ we’ll be able to put a bit more flesh on the bones."
