GARY Cahill feels Wanderers more than deserved a share of the spoils against Aston Villa.
The Whites came from behind after England winger Ashley Young had opened the scoring two minutes before half time with a fluke cross-shot.
Tamir Cohen bagged the equaliser on the hour with a smart volley from 10 yards, and although Wanderers were unable to go on and claim victory, Cahill was pleased with the result against his former club.
“I thought we had been okay in the first half, we put a few decent moves together,” he said.
“We conceded a lucky, lucky goal but we came out in the second half, took the game more to them, and I don’t think they had a chance to speak of.
“In the end, I think we were well worth a point.”
The centre-half was involved in a late claim for a penalty after appearing to be held by John Carew — but admitted his side would have been lucky to get the award from referee Lee Probert.
“John Carew had his arm across me but you get that kind of stuff in the penalty area,” he said. “From corners, it stays unseen, likewise when we’re defending to be honest.
“Tamir had another one that could have been given on another day but we kept battling on and we deserved a point, definitely.”
