Haroon Khan progressed to the quarter-finals of the ABA junior championships in Barrow-in-Furness when he outpointed Liverpool’s James Dickenson 6-2 for the first time in four meetings with the national 52kg champion.
Fellow Bury boxer Awaiz Iqbal lost his fight, but Bolton’s Chris Blinkhorn also reached the last eight of the competition, which will be held in Liverpool in two weeks time.
