COUNCIL chiefs are urging residents to go online in a bid to find a home for their unwanted possessions.
By logging on to a website called Freecycle, people can look at what other Bolton residents are giving away for free.
In the past, the website has contained sofas, bedroom furniture, pictures, clothes and even a car.
Cllr Elaine Sherrington, Bolton Council’s Executive member for cleaner, greener, safer, said: “Using Freecycle to exchange unwanted goods is a really effective way of getting rid of things that might otherwise get thrown away. It is also an excellent money-saver, as top quality items can be given away for free.”
