Farnworth teenager Sahir Iqbal landed a gold medal at the Three Nations Championships in Swansea.
Iqbal beat Alan Goss (Scotland) 9-0 in the semi-final before disposing of Joseph Smith (England) 8-3 in the final.
The victory over the previously unbeaten Smith was particularly pleasing because he had beaten Iqbal in the final of the schoolboys championships.
Fellow Bury ABC boxer Hassan Mahmood also picked up a gold medal to cap a fantastic weekend for Mick Jelley’s club.
