There’s no bluffing in this boutique if you’re looking for a new outfit and want to follow the latest fashion fads. Liberty Bluff in Westhoughton is great if you’re fed up of cloned high streets and want something different . . . just head down to Market Street.

Katy Brown, aged 25, from Westhoughton opened the shop in December 2007 and it’s going from strength to strength.

Katy said: “People like it here because they find something a bit different and you can get everything under one roof. You get service on a personal level. And, if I haven’t got an item I can order it in. I’m getting new stock each week and customers can come to me for style advice too.

“I’ve always worked in retail. When I left school I started doing fashion and graphic design and I worked with bigger retailers. I seemed to have a natural flair for it, from picking stock to serving customers and I just wanted to branch out and do my own thing.”

Katy’s mum, Susan, helped her to set up the store and they transformed it into a boutique to cater for all ages.

Katy said: “Anyone from a 16-year-old girl to women in their 80s can shop in here. We’ve got everything from Gina Bacconi for the older ladies to Lipsy for the younger girls.

“We have different labels and price ranges to suit anyone. You can grab a top at £15 or one at £60.”

Katy stocks a host of brands including Jonny Q jeans, Sasperella, Rare, Siren, Arrogant Cat and Mode in Pelle.

And despite the credit crunch hitting the high street Katy is looking to expand and has set up a new website which will launch in August.

Katy said: “With the website we are branching out into different areas to show people the stock we have and make people aware of what we are about. We won’t be able to showcase everything on the website but it will give a taster of what we have in store.”

Liberty Bluff, pictured right, is certainly an Aladdin’s cave where you can get your fashion fix. Katy said that customers spend hours in the shop, with comfortable seating for the men to take a break while the girls splash the cash. Now that’s what I call value for money — a new outfit and no moaning. Shopaholic’s dream.

Liberty Bluff is open Monday to Wednesday — 10am to 5.30pm, Thursday — 10am to 7pm, Friday and Saturday — 10am to 5pm.
