THIS is teenager Zhen Asghar, who died two days after being stabbed during a mass brawl at a party in Manchester.

The 18-year-old, of Mallowdale Close, Lostock, was stabbed in a flat during a fight which involved at least 23 people.

He died as a result of his injuries at the Manchester Royal Infirmary on Wednesday.

His family have been too upset to speak but have released this picture of their son.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder following the fight has been bailed pending further inquiries.

The emergency services were called to the apartment in the Victoria Building in Dantzic Street, near the Printworks, in the city centre, on Monday at 8am.

Mr Asghar was found outside the block with stab wounds, one of which is believed to have severed an artery in his leg. Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team is investigating.

Witnesses reported seeing someone on the floor in a doorway and paramedics attempting to resuscitate him.

Residents in the building — which contains apartments that can be hired out for the weekend by visitors to the city — reported seeing pools of blood in the corridor and watched as a group of youths were put in the back of a police van.

A post-mortem examination was due to take place today.
