BOLTON trampolinist Steven Williams made a confident start to his senior career when he finished 31st in the world championships in St Petersburg.
Earlier this year the talented teenager won bronze for Great Britain in the Australian Youth Olympic Festival and more than held his own when he stepped up to senior level against 83 other competitiors.
Williams, from Bromley Cross, is rated the third best in the country at senior level and was only beaten by one place by his second-ranked team member.
He trains in Liverpool at the same club as artistic gymnast and double world champion Beth Tweddle.
