A CAT has been killed by stray dogs which is being linked to a similar attack last week.

Bolton Council has received a report of a cat being killed in Little Lever on Sunday afternoon.

It follows an attack in The Sheddings in Great Lever last Tuesday, which left two cats dead.

The owner of the cat killed on Sunday, who lives in Ascot Road, Little Lever, said: “I have warned everyone I know that there are killer dogs on the loose.

“I am just worried that if they can do this to an animal, they could seriously hurt a toddler and I don’t think we should be taking the risk. The dogs need to be caught.

“I think they could be the same ones that attacked in Great Lever, it is not that far away and they are fit and strong dogs.

“I have other cats and I am very worried for their safety in case these strays decide to come back.”

A council spokesperson said: “We are handling a report of stray dogs in the Little Lever area. There are some similarities between this report and the stray dogs in Great Lever reported to us last week.

“Our officer has attended both sites and will continue to monitor the situation. We would ask anyone who spots these dogs to report them to us again.”
