A CONCERT in memory of murdered model Amy Barnes is set to become an annual event.
The fundraiser took place at Kiko in Bradshawgate on Thursday and raised £1,500.
The Amy Leigh Barnes Foundation was set up by her family to help victims of domestic abuse, as well as supporting youngsters who want to become performers.
Organiser Lucy Openshaw, who performed on the night with her band Amongst The Stars, said: “I was so pleased with how it went and how much money we raised. I did not expect so many people to turn up, the place was packed. I am now hoping to organise another gig and it could become an annual event.
“Amy’s family supported us and came along. Her mum Karyn Killiner made a speech and there was not a dry eye in the house.”
The line-up for the Gig For Amy included local bands Second Hand Wings, Appease and Silver Metal Massacre.
Amy was stabbed to death at her home in Fanworth in 2008.
