Castle Hill boxing club enjoyed a superb night of action at the club’s show at Tonge Ward Sports and Leisure Club.
The club’s second tournament was another huge success with nine high-quality bouts keeping the crowd entertained last Friday.
Rising star Chris Blinkhorn topped the bill but suffered a surprise defeat against Michael Jameson.
Blinkhorn beat the Scottish Commonwealth Youth bronze medallist 23-6 earlier this year, but Jameson gained his revenge when he edged a split decision.
Danny Johnson also lost a split decision against Clackheaton’s Jack Sutherland, as did Rumworth and Hulton’s Mustapha Sikander against Ellis Costigan, of Darnhill and Heywood.
But there was better news for home fighters Ben Broadhurst and Nathan Dootso, who overcame Darnhill and Heywood’s Luke Birch and Clackheaton’s Dave Herridge.
