READERS who did not manage to return their books to libraries last week will not be fined, Bolton Council has said.
Despite the best efforts of the weather, Bolton’s libraries remained open for much of the week as staff struggled in through the snow.
However, concessions will be made for any user for whom that was not possible.
Cllr Elaine Sherrington, executive member for adult and community services, said: “While many library staff have shown great commitment to make sure that the service has been running as normal, it would not be fair to punish people library users for not returning books, especially those who are vulnerable or live in remote areas.”
