BRITISH Transport Police are hunting for a man who allegedly indecently exposed himself on a train.

The incident happened shortly before 4pm on Monday, January 11, on board the Blackburn to Manchester Victoria service.

A man got on the train at Bromley Cross and sat on a seat level with a female passenger but on the opposite side of the train.

The woman soon noticed the man, caught on a camera, staring at her and looked away from him and out of the window.

In the reflection, she saw the man expose himself while still looking at her. During the journey he moved closer to the woman, whilst still exposed, before hurrying off the train at Manchester Victoria.

PC Lindsey Lightfoot, investigating for British Transport Police, said: “The woman was extremely distressed by the incident and it is imperative that we find the man.

“The offender is described as being an Asian man, aged about 30, with a round face and chubby build. He was wearing a black coat, combat trousers and a woolly hat.”

“If you recognise the man in the picture — or the description — or have information about the incident please contact us.”

Anyone with any information about the man or incident is asked call British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
