RELEASED while Dennis is out on a UK tour with Andy Fairweather Low, this is amazingly his first solo album recorded in a proper studio.

As the lead singer with Dr Hook, Dennis was part of one of the most successful bands of the 70’s and 80’s, and his voice was one of the most recognisable in music.

He has since become an amazing solo performer and has played in front of over 900,000 people in Britain alone.

‘Post Cool’ contains 13 tracks that were written or co-written by Dennis and has been recorded with the same musicians he goes out on tour with.

Produced by Joe Brown’s son Peter, the album is certainly a showcase of Dennis post Hook and proves that he is no slouch when it comes to song-writing.

He gets his lyrical inspiration from all around; for instance, the opening track ‘This Guitar’, is about…. Well, his guitar.

‘Dance On Daddy’s Feet’ tells about a woman wondering where the little girl she once was has gone to.

And there’s even a song about the thoughts conjured up be the sound of a train in the night, called, yes you guessed it, ‘The Sound Of A Train’.

I get the feeling that this is a ‘personal’ album from Dennis; mainly upbeat, but sad in parts.

Definitely worth a listen.
