YOUNG architects have unveiled their blueprint for their new schools.

A special Building Schools for the Future (BSF) design day was held so schoolchildren could present what they would like to see the multi-million pound investment spent on.

Seven schools are to be refurbished or rebuilt as part of the Government’s flagship scheme.

Ideas put forward included dining rooms, swimming pools and modern learning equipment.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Linda Thomas, said: “BSF represents the single biggest investment in Bolton and it was really exciting to be able to bring everyone together to get a first glimpse of what BSF means for our schools and everyone in the community. The confidence from the young people was fantastic — they know exactly what they want — and we now have to deliver it for them.“This event shows that BSF in Bolton it is not a ‘one size fits all’ project; there is so much variety and the plans have been designed to suit the wider community, not just the young people in the schools.”
