FOOTBALLERS at all levels will be interested in Marcus Hallows’ court victory — five years after his career was ruined by a tackle — that brought him an award of £32,500 for loss of earnings.
The decision was good for him, but devastating for Ashton United — a club that says it cannot afford to pay.
Mr Hallows, who lives in Harwood, now works as a sales manager for a construction company and is a part-time Elvis impersonator. I have seen him in action in that latter capacity and I thought he was pretty good.
Hopefully, things will go well for him now that the long-running legal saga involves a little less conversation and more action. I know, I know. Forgive me for that.
