CAPTAIN marvel Phil Regan grabbed a dramatic late equaliser to earn Eagley a point against Charnock Richard in the Premier League.

Neil Holmes fired Eagley ahead but two goals in quick succession put the visitors in front at the interval.

Driven on by midfield powerhouse Tom Morgan, sixth-placed Eagley piled forward in search of an equaliser.

And the hosts’ efforts were rewarded when Regan met Morgan’s corner with a towering header with just three minutes left.

Tempest United luck continues to desert them as they went down 2-1 at Euxton Villa.

United had already conceded a first-half penalty when goalkeeper Mark Allen twisted his knee and was forced off at half-time.

Manager Andy Morris took over between the sticks but disaster struck when the makeshift keeper picked up a backpass and, in scenes reminiscent of Arsenal’s Champions League clash at Porto, Euxton took the free-kick quickly to score a controversial second.

Tempest stuck to their task manfully and James Hamer pulled one back to give the visitors’ hope, but it was not enough as Villa held on for the victory.

Bottom club Turton’s woes deepened as their game against Coppull United was once again a victim of the weather.

Neil Hart’s side have now not played in the league since early December and the latest postponement leaves them two points adrift at the foot of the table.

Stoneclough drew 2-2 at Haslingden St Mary’s.

Clint McLoughlin and former Atherton LR midfielder Phil Hill were on the scoresheet for Trevor Ball’s men.
