FOUR high school friends are embarking on an epic bike ride to raise money for a children’s charity.

The Westhoughton High School pupils are attempting to cycle more than 200 miles in aid of Save the Children UK.

Jordan Richmond, aged 16, has organised the event, along with friends James Cropper, aged 14, Michael Egan, aged 15, and William Berry, aged 16.

The fantastic four are hoping to raise up to £5,000 for the charity, which aims to get proper healthcare, food, education and protection for suffering children across the world.

The four will cycle 210 miles from Jordan’s home in Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, then via Newcastle-under-Lyme and Milton Keynes, finishing in London four days later.

Jordan, of Higher Drake Meadow, said: “It is our final year of high school education and we wanted to do a charity event as part of our PSHCE (personal, social, health, citizenship and education) lesson.

Last year Jordan raised £500 for MAGs (Minors Advisory Group) by completing a sponsored bike ride from Manchester to Liverpool.
