RUGBY LEAGUE: WESTHOUGHTON Lions Under-12s put in a fighting performance as they went down 40-14 at unbeaten Langworthy Reds.
Dan Hodson powered through only to miss scoring a try by inches, but Mason Lockley and Will Barker had better fortunes as the former scored two tries and converted one kick and the latter scored the last try for the Lions.
Richard Pimblett took the most improved player award, Bryn Jones earned the players’ player award, Mason Lockley the spectators’ award, and William Barker the coaches’ award.
