REGARDING the article "Bolton and Proud of It, we have got plenty of reasons" - how laughable a comment from council chiefs who do not want Bolton to become another "clone town".

Isn't this the same council that recently approved the planning application to get rid of the Market Hall in its current guise, to be filled with the same shops that you can find in Other Town, UK, removing unique stalls, many that have been run by the same families for years?

The sad reality is, Bolton is no different than any other town in the UK when it comes to a shopping experience.

The article states that the council is consulting people. Well, what about the many thousands who signed the petition against the Market Hall redevelopment and whose opinions have been clearly overlooked? So much for consultation.

It sounds to me like another complete and utter waste-of-time-and-money exercise by BMBC.
