WYN Davies, Charlie Cooper, Syd Farrimond and Peter Nicholson were the only winners for Bolton Wanderers former players when they played their annual bowls match on Sunday against Dobbies Sports and Social Club.
Mighty Wyn and his partner lost 21-8 to Stockton and Gandy but won a photo finish 21-20 with Brabin and Greenhalgh, while Syd Farrimond and his partner also managed to snatch a close win 21-17 against Allen and Gandy after being beaten 21-11 by Seddon and Gandy.
Dobbies ran out clear 7-2 winners but Wanderers expect a closer result next Sunday at Standish Conservative Club against Wigan Athletic ex-players.
