DWAYNE Mattis and David Buchanan are the latest players to agree new terms with the Shakers, following hot on the heels of teammates Simon Whaley, John Fitzgerald and skipper Dave Challinor.

Player-of-the-season Mattis, linked to a number of admiring clubs, has finally agreed to ink an extension to his current contract, while Buchanan, another product of the club's highly rated youth system and already a Northern Ireland Under 19 international, has agreed a two-year contract, his first professional deal.

Late last week Challinor agreed a 12 month extension to his current contract with an option for a further year, while Blackburn Rovers product Fitzgerald, on-loan at Gigg Lane, agreed a deal with the Shakers after being released by the Ewood Park outfit.

Whaley agreed a new two-year deal and all five players are expected to put pen to paper this week down at Gigg.
