A NEW mother has issued a "come home" plea to her partner who vanished eight days before their daughter was born.

Peter Weber, aged 25, of New Lane, Breightmet, disappeared 12 days ago and has not seen his daughter Megan who was born on Saturday.

And today his partner Sylvia Curnock implored her missing boyfriend to come back.

She said: "We are just desperate for him to come home. He was so excited about having this baby.

"I want him to know there is nothing to be frightened of. He has got so much going for him back here."

She added: "It's been horrible and impossible to get any sleep since he disappeared. Everybody has been crying all the time."

Police have been informed about Mr Weber's disappearance and confirmed they are growing "increasingly concerned" about what has happened to him.

Members of his family today say they cannot understand why he has suddenly vanished without warning.

They have called his mobile telephone, which appears to be switched off, and have spent nearly a fortnight combing the streets of Breightmet and Little Hulton, where Mr Weber's family come from.

Mr Weber, who had been working in a warehouse for Bolton firm CB Packers, has been with his partner for the last 18 months.

He had proposed to her last year and the couple planned to get married.

On the day of his disappearance, he was dropped off at work as usual by his brother-in-law Darren.

But unbeknown to his family, he had packed extra items in his work bag including socks, a pair of trainers and some hair gel.

When they arrived later that day to pick him up, on May 27, he failed to appear.

Mr Weber's sister Jackie Blears said: "He's a brilliant brother who has a heart of gold who would do anything for anyone. He's very selfless and has got a lovely sense of humour. We just want him home."

Martin Rouse, proprietor of CB Packers, said Mr Weber had picked up his pay packet on the Friday of his disappearance at 3pm and had left work immediately. He added: "There was nothing that happened at work that would prompt him to disappear."

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Astley Bridge on 0161 856 5629 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Mr Weber's family are also appealing for information on 0791 4444164.
