I WAS shocked to read about hospital bosses considering banning Bibles from hospital bedside lockers (Bolton Evening News, June 3).

As for offending non-Christians, I have never heard such rubbish.

The Bible is there for anyone who wishes to read it, and over recent years I have found great comfort from its pages while recovering from surgery.

But to say that Bibles may be the cause of spreading the MRSA bug is ludicrous. Does this mean that there will also be a ban on newspapers, cards, flowers, a visit from the WRVS trolley? I don't think so.

Bibles have been in bedside lockers for a long time, without complaint, so if the powers-that-be are looking for something to blame for the MRSA bug, they need to look elsewhere.
