MANCHESTER will play host to its biggest musical theatre event on Sunday, April 24.

"Sunday Night at the Manchester Palace" will see many of London's theatre greats under one roof for a spectacular event in aid of the pain relief charity DebRA.

An all-star West End cast and orchestra will perform the best songs from the greatest musicals - from Okalahoma to The Lion King, West Side Story to Hair, and Oliver to The Phantom of the Opera.

The evening will be presented by celebrity hosts including singer Kim Wilde, actor Oliver Tobias and Manchester's favourite Tracie Bennett (Coronation Street).

Other celebrity appearances already confirmed include Bonnie Langford, Joanne Farrell (TV's Steel River Blues) and theatre star David Shannon, with many more celebrities to be announced over the coming weeks.
