HOMEOWNERS who replace their house numbers with fancy names could be putting their lives at risk.
Ambulance chiefs believe vital minutes are being lost as ambulance drivers search for addresses but cannot see house numbers.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Ambulance Service said the problem is particularly acute in south Manchester, but admits that areas of Bolton including Lostock and Heaton are also affected.
Ambulance chiefs want homeowners to clearly number their properties, even if they also give their house a name.
