I WOULDN'T have a problem with having my household rubbish bin collected once a fortnight. We are a family of four and this week my bin is only half full and I could probably survive another week. This is because we re-cycle.
However I would like to say that the council need to provide bigger re-cycling bins perhaps the same size as our normal bin.
As well as our collection of the green box we produce enough recyclable waste to fill two black bins a month which we take to the Sainsbury's site.
We have family who live in Devon who for several years now have this two bins system and have the bins collected on alternate weeks and they manage fine.
This system would help to improve and encourage recycling as well as reducing the landfill.
Whatever the Council's reason for this change let it be done properly and not be at the expense of bin collectors jobs in a bid to cut the budget.
