DETECTIVES are investigating an attack on a man who was slashed across his legs and hit with a hammer by two masked men.
The 33-year-old sustained injuries to his leg after the assault in Hilden Street, The Haulgh.
He answered the door to his flat and was confronted by the men, who demanded money.
He was also hit over the head with what is believed to be a hammer.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack at 3am on Friday.
The man was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
The first attacker was white, 6ft, slim and was wearing a pale woolly hat. The second man was described as stocky.
