JAY Jay Okocha says Wanderers have been sussed by their Premiership rivals.

The Reebok skipper believes the recent downturn in fortunes has been caused by other teams getting wise to the Whites' style.

And he says the players must rise to the challenge of proving themselves all over again.

Okocha, who admits to having had sleepless nights over his own poor run of form, is surprised at how long the team's bad run is lasting.

He describes Saturday's Reebok clash with basement club West Brom as the biggest game of the season for the Whites, after six straight defeats and two points from nine games has landed them perilously close to the relegation zone.

He says the players realise the seriousness of the situation and warned that another slip-up could have a disastrous effect on the players already rock bottom confidence.

He said: "We just need to slow down and get ourselves back on track again.

"The other teams realise that we have a good team and they have worked out now how we play and they try to match us. It is working for them and not for us. They are playing comfortably against us.

"At the beginning of the season we were hard to predict. Now we are easy to predict and we have to go back to Plan B and do the things that brought us success.

"Crisis is too strong a word for the situation we are in, because we are not dead and buried yet. We still have every opportunity to get our season back, but we have to believe the next game is the most important.

"We are struggling with confidence and we cannot afford to slip up again in this game, because it will affect our confidence even more."

The captain is not looking for excuses for the team's dire run and says the team must take full responsibility for their shortcomings.

"We only have ourselves to blame," he admitted. "You play to win and if you fail to win it is your responsibility.

"We knew at some point we would have a bad run, but we never thought it would be this long. It is a big challenge for us to prove ourselves now and prove that we should be where we were earlier in the season.

"We have to prove we are an established Premiership side and not a struggling one.

"Tomorrow's game might look like it should be an easy one, but there are no easy games in this league."

Okocha is as disappointed with his own performances as with those of the team.

He added: "I am not happy with my own contribution. I have been performing very poorly and, of course, not helping the team.

"I look at myself first before looking at others, and I have been not been at my best.

"That is probably why I have been having sleepless nights.

"But it is wrong to say if I play well, the team plays well. We are a team, and if one player plays badly it is down to the other players to make up for it.

"The problem is not one or two players but the team is not playing well as a group and that is down to confidence."

Okocha believes signings could make a difference in the transfer window.

"I do not expect Ronaldo to come, but one or two new players would be good for the team," he said. "The transfer window always gives an opportunity to strengthen a team whatever situation they are in and hopefully that will happen.

"But we are not expecting big signings."
