THERE was no doubting the relief on the face of smiling Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's late leveller had rescued a point for his side.

But he was at pains to make it clear that this is a new Chelsea; a side that approaches each game with a will to win without letting the thought of defeat enter their minds.

"Yes it was late when we secured the point but we always felt we could get a goal in the game, especially after half time when we brought on Hasselbaink.

"I wanted two strikers, Jimmy and Gudjohnsen with Zola just behind them and we started the second half well. Unfortunately for us Bolton scored but even then, and when we were down to ten men when Babayaro was sent off, we always felt we could get a draw.

"With three players like Hasselbaink, Gudjohnsen and Zola you must always believe you will score goals.

"We also have a new Chelsea now, a Chelsea that always seeks just one result. Of course we must accept that it does not happen all the time but our mentality is to try to win, no matter who we are playing."

Ranieri also felt the way his side approached their games has made a difference this season, resulting in them losing only two matches so far.

"I do not look at who we are facing before each game. I treat them all the same.

"We do not look at a team from the bottom any more and think it will be easy. All our matches are difficult and this game showed that.

"We started each half very well but you have to remember there is another side out there. Some people do not understand why Bolton are at the bottom of the table when they can play so well but they have very good, skilful players.

"I think we deserved to score first. We made two or three chances but could not get the ball into the net and that disappointed me.

"Bolton then scored yet we got a draw late in the match and continuing to take points is something very important to us.

"I think in the end a draw was good for both teams. I think we scared Bolton a bit because we created chances but in the end Cudicini has had to make two great saves. I was pleased with the result."

Ranieri did not appear to be too upset over the red card issued to defender Celestine Babayaro.

"I was busy preparing to put on a subsititute and did not see what happened.

"Babayaro tells me it was an accident, but all players say that. I have told him I will look at the video to find out what happened.

"I believe in the referee and the linesmen. Now and again they make mistakes but you or I also make mistakes at times so I don't think we should criticise them too much for that."
