PAUL Scholes has challenged his Manchester United team-mates to go on another eight-match unbeaten run, starting tonight.

Liverpool ended United's eight-game winning streak last week, and pegged the champions back just when it looked like they might open up a significant gap in the Barclaycard Premiership title race.

England midfielder Scholes claims United must regain the initiative by beating Bolton at the Reebok Stadium and embarking on another run.

"We've got to start again at Bolton and try and put together another eight-game run," he said.

"That would put us in good stead again for challenging in the league.

"I think the Liverpool defeat has maybe given the other teams a bit of encouragement, especially the likes of Arsenal and Leeds.

"So it's up to us to get back on the winning track, starting at Bolton."

Sir Alex Ferguson is certainly expecting an improved performance from his champions and league leaders and he will field his strongest side at the Reebok.

Diego Forlan is expected to be on the bench just a week after completing his £7.5million move from Independiente, while Ryan Giggs is set to start following his bout of flu.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will also be unleashed on Wanderers after Ferguson rested him on Saturday to keep him fresh for this game.

United could be without David Beckham and Juan Veron, as the two midfielders are struggling with knocks.
