I FELT I had to write in thanks of Fred's life. I don't know exactly what it was about him that made him loved by so many, even folk who show no interest whatsoever in steam engines, mechanics, or in anything structural for that matter.
I suppose it must have been his no nonsense approach to explaining things with such enthusiasm.
Anyway, I look forward with great enthusiasm and excitement at the new series coming on TV, and like many on seeing Fred there, will find it very hard to believe he isn't around any more.
At least I am able say I met him on a couple of occasions, and he even signed a copy of his video for me in beautiful handwriting.
I would just like to finish by saying thanks for being you Fred, have a great rest, you'll be missed.
