MANAGER Sam Allardyce was delighted with the point at Goodison Park, although admitting the performance of Wayne Rooney had been the shining light on an otherwise drab afternoon.
He said: "A clean sheet at last is a moral victory. We weathered the storm midway through the second half and then nearly snatched it with Jay Jay's free kick.
"It was unlike us - dogged , determined, resilient. That is great from my point of view away from home, rather than open, entertaining and nothing to show for it."
