JEAN Tigana knows exactly what he wants to avoid being sucked into the Premiership relegation battle writes Richard Mulligan

Five wins and two draws will suit him and with eight home games still to come, two of them against struggling West Brom and West Ham, he's confident his side can achieve that target.

"I was pleased with the result against Bolton and if we can continue like that then we should keep clear of trouble.

"We didn't play well in the first half but fortunately they could not take the chances they created. We played better after that and could have perhaps got something at the end.

Wanderers may have their goalscoring problems at the moment but so to do Fulham. They have scored just 23 goals in 22 games this season and this statistic is worrying their manager.

Tigana explained: "Malbranque had two good chances for us but could not take them.

"Goalscoring has been a problem for us and really what I need is one of the midfield players to start getting goals.

"Unfortunately I don't know if we can bring someone in - I'm not the boss," he said with an obvious reference to Mohamed Al Fayed, the Harrod's owner who has bank-rolled Fulham's move into the Premiership.

"Overall, though I was quite pleased with the performance.

"It was a match we really wanted to win but a draw is not too bad. Had Bolton won, it would have taken them to within a polnt of us and that could have made life uncomfortable.

"So I have to say, a draw is just fine for us."

Meanwhile Fulham defender Rufus Brevett insists his side will not run out of steam in the final part of a very gruelling season. There have been suggestions that the club's decision to enter the Intertoto Cup has left the players jaded and out of sorts.

But Brevett said: "We all enjoyed the Intertoto Cup. We won it and got into the UEFA Cup, which was a great experience.

"We benefited from it, and I cannot say we are tired because of the Intertoto Cup.

"The training we do caters for the games we play."
