Wanderers fans anticipating an historic double victory over mighty Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow night would be well advised to back their hunch.

For while the supporters may believe that the Whites will rise to the occasion, the bookmakers are not so sure.

Fred Done bookmakers are offering odds of 10-1 against Wanderers heading home victorious for a second consecutive season, even longer odds than the 9-1 they offered on the team last year.

By the time of kick-off tomorrow, the bookmakers expect up to £10,000 to have been wagered in Bolton on the outcome of the match -- but most of it will be backing United to win. Those who back Wanderers will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of one punter last year who placed £100 on the Whites to win -- and went home with £1,000 in his pocket after the 2-1 victory.

A spokesman for Done Bookmakers said they had given Wanderers such poor odds for this year's Old Trafford clash due to their mixed fortunes in the Premiership over the last few games, compared to last season's tremendous start.

He said: "We would be delighted to pay out if Wanderers won, but the fact is United at the moment appear to be in a different league." Manchester United are 1-4 to win.

Anyone also fancying Wanderers', chances against Liverpool and Arsenal, who the Whites also meet this month can have a bumper flutter with Fred Done offering odds of 250-1 on them winning all three matches.
