AN own goal thwarted Horwich Vic in their quest to extend their lead at the top of the Bolton Sunday League Premier Division.

They were held to a 1-1 home draw by their local rivals Greenwood, with Charlton getting on the scoresheet for Vic.

Bowling Green secured an emphatic victory over Ladybridge, cantering to a 6-1 win that included two goals from Leversedge. Ashcroft, Riley, Smith, and Lord also netted, with Austin scoring for Ladybridge.

Bulls Head eased to a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Arkwrights, as Moores and Aldred found the target, and Armitage LC easily disposed of Tonge United, 3-0.

A hat-trick from Roscoe was the difference as Jolly Waggoner were 3-2 victors at Bradford Arms, for whom Innes and Allen struck.

In Division One, the player of the day was Anderton, whose four goals helped Clifton Rangers to a 6-2 win at Greenfield.

Fox and Stork obtained an even more impressive away win, as they trounced Prince Rupert 6-1.

The only clean sheet in the division was kept by Pied Piper, who also scored five times at home to Darcy Lever, Hill, Berry (2), and Porter Jnr (2).

Britannia Farnworth also got a nap hand in a 5-1 defeat of AFC Heaton, with Rothwell, Balshaw (2), Fletcher, and McManus all on target, while goals from Kay and Carroll could not prevent Beaumont crashing 5-2 at home to Farnworth Canary, and Gibson and Bates were among the scorers for Black Horse as they won 3-1 at Smithills.
