IVAN Campo is confident of being back in Premiership action within a fortnight after surviving a major injury scare.
The Spaniard spoke today of his relief at having escaped serious damage after his clash of heads with team-mate Gary Speed on Saturday.
He was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured cheekbone but X-rays revealed there was no bone damage and he was discharged after undergoing plastic surgery on a gash below his right eye.
"Initially I feared the worst," Campo said. "When I got off the field there was blood everywhere. I calmed down, when I got to the hospital, and left it to the surgeons. I felt relaxed and relieved when I was told there was no fracture.
"I should be back in action in a couple of weeks, which is great news."
Asked if he may have to wear a protective face mask when he plays, he said: "We'll just have to wait and see."
