A 26-YEAR-OLD man has died after being hit by a train on Tuesday night.
The man, from the Bolton area, was struck by the Manchester Victoria to Blackburn service at 11.35pm on the Bolton side of Moses Gate station.
The train driver notified British Transport Police who called ambulance crews to the station but the man was pronounced dead at the scene
A British Transport Police spokesman said it was not thought there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but a full inquiry would follow and the coroner has been informed. Trains were expected to be running as normal this morning.
