COMPANIES and contractors across Greater Manchester are being targeted this month as part of a campaign to reduce accidents with ladders.
Latest figures show that falls from ladders and stepladders account for an average of 12 fatalities and more than 1,000 major injuries every year in the UK.
Now, the county's local authorities are joining forces as part of the European Health and Safety Week (October 18-25) to get the "safety first" message across. Hundreds of local businesses will receive leaflets detailing safeguards.
