Fleetwood Hesketh 1 Eagley 3: EAGLEY bounced back from their defeat at Blackrod with a fine 3-1 victory at Southport side Fleetwood Hesketh in the West Lancashire Premier Division.
There were few clear chances in a competitive first half-hour, but it was Hesketh who grabbed the lead in the 30th minute, when their danger man Jamie Dalton broke down the left and whipped an unstoppable shot passed Eagley keeper Mark Warren.
The Villagers hit back, and within two minutes levelled the scores, Neil Matthews heading home from a corner kick.
In the second period, Eagley's midfield took control, and Carl Grimshaw headed home a pinpoint Mark Callow cross in the 65th minute.
The Villagers secured maximum points with five minutes left, when Danny Hamer converted Grimshaw's right-wing cross to make it 3-1.
Eagley entertain Freckleton on Saturday, while the second team travel to Tempest United. Both games kick off at 3pm.
