I AM writing about the letter in the Bolton Evening News on October 6 - "Why should they waste our money like this?".
It seems Mr John O'Conner thinks the flats in Crompton Street, Farnworth, are too nice. If they are, they are the only nice place in Farnworth.
Let's hope that when they modernise Farnworth market it improves the town. We may get a few good shops, there are none in Farnworth, and as for the young people where can they go? Zacs is doing a good job, but it's not enough.
Thirty years ago Farnworth was a great town with nice shops and picture houses, and it's just gone downhill. Who has let it get so bad?
And as for the people who get the flats in Crompton Street, good luck with their ornamental wrought iron fence. Let's hope it is the start of a bit of glamour in the town.
