I FEEL I need to write this letter to tell you how appalled I am at the number of drivers with children in their cars who are not seat-belted in. I have lost count of how many I have seen lately.
They are in the front passenger seats and even standing up on the back seats. If an accident occurred and an unstrapped child was thrown from the car and killed (God forbid), surely this would be manslaughter.
Police should be checking cars, not only for speeding or for broken brake lights, but for drivers being negligent when it comes to the safety of children.
Also, it is illegal to use a mobile phone while driving -- but you wouldn't think so with the number of people still doing it. This is all so irresponsible and these law breakers should be severely dealt with.
