I FIND the Bolton Evening News campaign regarding smoking utterly biased.
A daily local newspaper should have a duty to give a balanced view of a subject. I note there is a form to fill in only if you agree with the Bolton Evening News. Where is the form for those who believe in democracy?
I have bought the Bolton Evening News for some 35 years and hope to continue to do so, but not unless you balance this particular issue.
I believe most smokers accept the no smoking rules for many buildings, including shopping centres and places such as the Town Hall, but there is no justification for bans in every establishment. Bars, pubs and restaurants already have the choice to go non-smoking -- that's democracy.
They will not do that, as they know customers do not want it. That is why the smug Mr Griffiths from the Red Lion wants a total ban. Let him go non-smoking now and see how it works for him.
Please can we have a comments form for those who oppose your opinion?
