CANDIDATES from the UK Independence Party will fight for Bolton's three parliamentary seats at the next General Election, it has been announced .

The party says it will be fielding candidates in Bolton West, Bolton North-east and Bolton South-east.

The candidates have not been revealed since UKIP chiefs say they still need to be vetted.

But the fact that the party will be contesting the three seats, currently held by Labour MPs Ruth Kelly, David Crausby and Dr Brian Iddon, backs the announcement this week by Robert Kilroy-Silk that the party would fight for every seat at the General Election.

Ian Upton, press officer for the Bolton branch of the party, said of the candidates: "I can say that all the three men are very good business people who live in the Bolton area."

The UK Independence Party wants Britain to pull out of the European Union.
