YOUNG Heidi Hope is brightening up the skies of Westhoughton with her own floral creation.
The youngster, who attends Eatock Primary School, is the talk of the town after winning the Tallest Sunflower in Westhoughton competition.
Children from nine primary schools took part in the challenge and were given a sunflower seed, compost and a pot to nurture their flower during the summer holidays.
And Heidi topped the lot with her sunflower that grew to an impressive three metres.
She is already a keen gardener and tended to the flower every day in her family greenhouse.
Organiser Cathy Gilfillan praised all the children's efforts, saying: "Everybody did really well. The flowers were very healthy and most of them towered above their creators!
"We were inundated with photographs from parents of children with their sunflowers."
