WHAT do musicians do as they grow older? If they want they can revive their musicianship in a group which is affiliated to Bolton Community College and based at the Clarence Street Centre.
The group of mainly retired musicians meets for a couple of hours every Tuesday afternoon to play and enjoy the music of the big bands of yesteryear.
The band, collectively known as Last of the Summer Wind, is made up of local ladies and gentlemen who have made music over many years in local dance halls and concert venues.
Recently the band has lost a couple of players due to members leaving the Bolton area, and this leaves them trying to replace their keyboard player and trombone player.
The purpose of the band is to enjoy playing, create music and have an enjoyable afternoon out.
If anyone wants to Take the A Train on a Sentimental Journey to Tuxedo Junction, after a Summer Holiday during September in the Rain, telephone me on 01204 846291.
