THE summer has been a massive disappointment for the majority of Wanderers fans.
Rivaldo, Prso, Meite, Unsworth and others all turn down our offers.
Then comes speculation about Davids and Hemdani, only for the usual message to come out of the Reebok that there is no truth in the rumours. I ask BWFC: "Why not?"
Perhaps the strangest piece of the summer transfer jigsaw is that Simon Charlton leaves because Wanderers were not prepared to offer a long term contract to a 32-year-old.
Yet Big Sam has decided that it is a good idea to sign 37-year-old Ferdinand, and probably 35-year-old Heirro.
They were both great players in their time but now only a shadow of their former selves.
I do not understand the game plan when players such as Kluivert, Overmars, Davids, Amoroso, Wiltord and Petit are available on free transfers, and we have not challenged Boro, Charlton, Birmingham and other clubs for their signings.
Maybe we are just playing possum and will snap up some quality players on deadline day as usual. I really doubt it.
